Climate-Neutral Aachen 2030 – We’re On Board!

The city of Aachen has set itself the goal of becoming climate-neutral by the year 2030.

A livable Aachen concerns us all. And change starts with us. As a basic partner, we have signed the Aachen Climate City Contract and, together with over 150 other local stakeholders, are taking responsibility for our shared goal: a healthy, CO₂-neutral Aachen.

Climate City Contract

The Climate City Contract is a comprehensive plan for the local transformation process toward a climate-neutral city. It also represents the first milestone of the EU mission “100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030.” Aachen was selected by the European Commission—alongside 99 other mission cities—to serve as a role model for all European municipalities. The Climate City Contract is an important instrument, a seal of quality, and proof of a serious and viable strategy to achieve climate neutrality by 2030.
