Electric buses soon in Duisburg

Funding commitments from Federal Ministry and public transport association

Already in 2018 one line for future operation with electric buses in the German city of Duisburg could be selected. This result is basing on a feasibility study carried out by ebusplan for DVG (Duisburger Verkehrsbetriebe AG, bus operator in Duisburg) regarding the electrification of buses in the city. The funding of the vehicles required for this purpose was successfully applied for. So the DVG was promised financial support from the Federal Ministry of the Environment and the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR, the public transport association covering the area of the Rhine-Ruhr conurbation in Germany). Thus, seven new electric buses will be rolling through Duisburg in the future.

In the current tendering process, ebusplan continues to actively support the company.
