Funding for 50 new electric buses in Bremen

Public transport company receives 22 million euros from the Federal Ministry

As one of eight public transport companies, BSAG in Bremen has received a funding commitment from the German Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport. The transport company intends to use the funds, which amount to 22 million euros, to expand its fleet by 50 battery buses. Currently, 20 electric buses are being procured. They are to be put into service this year. With a total of 70 battery buses, almost a third of Bremen’s bus fleet will already be electric.

Germany funds buses with alternative drives

After ebusplan supported the funding application, we are also very pleased about the successful outcome of the application process. The federal funding program provides a total of 600 million euros for buses with alternative drives. The next call is due to be published before the end of the second quarter of 2022. As part of our funding consulting services, we are happy to support public transport companies in applying for funds for vehicles, infrastructure and also for feasibility studies.
